I have been a practicing therapist for almost 5 years worked with a variety of populations and backgrounds. I have experience working with domestic violence survivors, adults with various comorbid diagnoses, and adolescents/ youth dealing with change, mood disorders and impulse control concerns. I currently work primarily with adolescents and young adults specializing in anxiety, depression, basic stress/life concerns, relationships (romantic or family) difficulties, PTSD and managing changes in life.
I have worked in the field since 2009 and have experience in inpatient psychiatric social work as well as individual and family counseling. Over the past couple of years I have focused my continuing education on trauma-informed care, including EMDR and specifically attachment and somatic based approaches. I am most experienced working with adolescent, adult, and older adult populations.

Life is a journey and you will be hard-pressed to find a completely smooth path along the way. The hard truth is that life can be filled with difficulties. In many ways, animals embody mindfulness: they are present in the moment, without judgment. It was my love for animals, my work in animal rescue, and my experience volunteering with my dog as a pet therapy team that solidified my desire to become a psychotherapist. I witnessed first-hand the myriad therapeutic benefits that animals bring to humans, and I thought: Not only do I want to emulate the traits of empathy, authenticity, non-judgment, and being in-the-moment, but I want to employ them in an intentional manner.

At Rusk Therapy, each relationship between therapist and patient is individual and implements a variety of treatments. Once a course of action is agreed upon, we’ll approach therapy by incorporating the whole mind-body approach.
That includes the relationship between mental, emotional, and physical health, along with incorporating nutrition, supplements, and exercise. Working together, you can create an improved lifestyle that supports your best life.
The process of a successful therapeutic relationship depends on your effort and our compatibility, along with clear boundaries and feeling safe.
I believe it’s essential to find the right therapist, and doing this takes a phone call, a first session, or a few sessions. I welcome you to schedule a complimentary call to explore a possible therapeutic relationship.
