Hi, I’m Hakeen. I’m an open-minded, down-to-earth therapist who works with adults seeking support through anxiety, depression, stress, anger, and life transitions. I have experience across psychiatric settings and community mental health, which means I’ve worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and understand how layered our stories can be. Clients describe me as warm, steady, and easy to talk to, and my goal is to offer a space where you feel understood and supported while you work toward real change.
I started my career in New York City then moved my practice to the sunny state of Florida. My experience over the past 15 years is working with adults navigating everything from everyday stress to deeper emotional wounds. Life gets complicated sometimes, but you don't have to do it alone! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through their most vulnerable moments—and watching them rediscover their strength, gain clarity and build confidence.
I believe everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to. As a therapist I enjoy creating an environment that makes people feel comfortable sharing their challenges. Through motivational interviewing I help clients discover solutions to their problems and help improve overall functioning while living with day-to-day stress. My experience helping clients with a myriad of diagnoses has prepared me to serve a wide range of individuals with a focus on unconditional positive regard and a collaborative therapeutic environment.
I am a licensed therapist in South Carolina, Florida and a Professional Art Therapist. I have 10+ years of experience working with eating disorders, sexual trauma & human trafficking survivors.
