Hi! My name is Monica McKee. I’m a passionate LMFT dedicated to helping couples, individuals, and first responder families navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and strengthen their relationships. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, working through trauma, or seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care.
I’ve been married for 25 years and understand that relationships can bring both joy and struggle. This personal experience, combined with my clinical training, allows me to approach couples work with empathy and practical insight. As the spouse of a first responder, I also have a deep appreciation for the unique stressors first responder families face and am honored to support them in therapy. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in helping couples and families reconnect and heal through an attachment-based approach, exploring how early relationships influence the ways we love, trust, and communicate. I’m trained in EMDR and I'm a Gottman Method Couples Level 2 practitioner, an evidence-based approach that helps couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and rebuild trust.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2010, and my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2023, with a focus on trauma.
Our current and past life circumstances can often leave us with feelings of stress, anxiety, and sadness. These emotions can be confusing and difficult to manage and process. My goal is to come alongside clients to reach personal goals, using warmth, understanding, and acceptance. I will work with you, with you in the driver’s seat, to set goals, explore and gain understanding of yourself, process your emotions in a safe space, reframe negative beliefs about yourself, and find solutions that work for you. I enjoy working with clients with a variety of concerns including general anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
