

Hello! My name is Monica McKee. I’m a passionate LMFT dedicated to helping couples, individuals, and first responder families navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and strengthen their relationships. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, working through trauma, or seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care.
I’ve been married for 25 years and understand that relationships can bring both joy and struggle. This personal experience, combined with my clinical training, allows me to approach couples work with empathy and practical insight. As the spouse of a first responder, I also have a deep appreciation for the unique stressors first responder families face and am honored to support them in therapy. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in helping couples and families reconnect and heal through an attachment-based approach, exploring how early relationships influence the ways we love, trust, and communicate. I’m trained in EMDR and I'm a Gottman Method Couples Level 2 practitioner, an evidence-based approach that helps couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and rebuild trust.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2010, and my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2023, with a focus on trauma.
I have many years of experience working with an eclectic population. I am very open-minded but direct as well. I believe in finding solutions and moving forward.
I am native Houstonian, servicing all Texas. I am a proud graduate of a historically black university who takes pride in servicing BIPOC particularly women ages 18 and older heal, grow their emotional intelligence , and become aware of their inner strengths to secure internal PEACE.
I am compassionate, empathic, solution-oriented, and driven provide exception al care by implementing effective yet realistic treatment plans for youth and adults
I earned my bachelors degree in communication studies from The University of Texas Arlington, and completed my graduate work with a Masters in Counseling from Texas A&M Commerce.
My practice is based in diversity, awareness, and inclusion for all. I welcome all clients of sexual orientations and gender identities.
I offer in person appointments in Rockwall, Texas as well as virtual teletherapy visits.

I am from a family of firefighters, so I have a special empathy for first responders.
I use CBT to help clients reframe unhelpful thought patterns and take control of their thoughts.
I earned my undergraduate degree in English Literature and a Specialization in Creative Writing and a Minor in Studio Art from Southern Methodist University. I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of North Texas at Dallas.
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Stephanie, a National Board-Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, ADHD, grief, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I specialize in supporting survivors of abuse, neglect, and domestic violence through trauma-informed, compassionate care. I also provide affirming support for LGBTQ+ individuals and those facing life transitions, low self-esteem, and academic or career stress.
