As a licensed counselor in the Sunshine State of Florida, with almost 10 years of experience, I have worked with a variety of populations & settings. Whether its young children (ages 6 & +) through 80 years & older, what I can tell you I have learned so far is; we all go through some "unlucky" things sometimes. What counts & is most important is how we learn to cope & manage these situations life throws our way. Together we can digest & learn ways to heal when life gets hard!
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who supports individuals, children, and families through life’s ups and downs. I’m fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and passionate about making therapy feel comfortable and accessible for everyone. My goal is to create a warm, understanding space where you feel heard and supported as you work toward healing and growth.
My multi-cultural experience and approach have taught me that there are many ways to look at the world and oneself. Your life story is unique, and together, we will explore how to bring about desired changes in your life and relationships. I work with trauma, anxiety and life changes, and have experience both in community and hospital settings.
My therapeutic approaches include motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy to better assist my client in gaining the necessary tools to effectively and appropriately manage their negative emotions. I also believe in using a mindfulness approach to help individuals better understand and identify internal and external triggers that can lead to maladaptive and addictive behaviors.
I'm also passionate about women's mental health and have experience in trauma-informed care. I understand and recognize the impact trauma can have on someone's daily functioning and its ability to change the way our brain functions.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and being a mother. I also foster medically fragile and special needs cats. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with my Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in addiction and trauma. I and also certified in assessing, diagnosing, and treating ADHD.
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. You can expect me to bring warmth, curiosity, and clear feedback to our work together. I’m not afraid to gently challenge patterns that may be holding you back, but always from a place of empathy and respect. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and build the emotional skills needed to feel more grounded and in control of your life.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or not like yourself lately? You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’m a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Ivy League trained with experience in outpatient, acute stabilization and consult-liaison psychiatry. I work with adults and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, and other mental health challenges that come with stress, illness, or life transitions.
I believe that profound growth and healing can happen when we sense that our story is truly acknowledged with care. Together we can empower you to improve your confidence, self-esteem, general approach to life, and any mental health, trauma, or addiction related symptoms you may be experiencing. With over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health, trauma, and addiction in many roles including, but not limited to primary counselor, illness management and recovery specialist, Seeking Safety clinician, and clinical director, I have significant training working with clients who are experiencing life transitions, mild, moderate, and severe mental health concerns, personality disorders, trauma, and both chemical and non-chemical addictions.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with extensive experience providing compassionate, person-centered therapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, serious mental illness, trauma, and complex life stressors. My clinical background spans community mental health, supportive housing, and outreach-based services, allowing me to work effectively with individuals facing co-occurring disorders, housing instability, and major life transitions.
I believe therapy works best when clients feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My approach is collaborative and practical, helping clients identify strengths, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change at their own pace.
I am an incredibly empathetic therapist who's joy is to provide a safe space to my clients. I utilize a variety of counseling theories in order to provide services. I am engaging and inquisitive and enjoy invoking humor within the sessions when appropriate.
