I work with adolescents and adults navigating addiction across the full spectrum, including alcohol and other substances, compulsive or process-based behaviors, early recovery, relapse vulnerability, long-term recovery, and transitions out of inpatient or higher levels of care. I also support clients experiencing co-occurring challenges such as anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, and major life transitions.
I have been working in the behavioral health field since 2015, with experience in addiction and mental health treatment across a range of settings and levels of care. I hold a Master of Social Work from Simmons University and am LCSW-eligible. I work with adolescents (13+) and adults, and I welcome clients at all stages of readiness, including those who feel unsure, ambivalent, or overwhelmed by change.
At the core of my work is the belief that addiction is rarely just about the behavior itself. It often reflects deeper emotional, relational, and stress-based patterns that deserve understanding rather than judgment. I place strong value on helping clients build internal resources while also connecting them to supportive services and external supports when additional structure or care would be helpful.
My style is warm, supportive, while also challenging my clients to see new perspectives. Change can be scary, but with reassurance and affirmation, I have seen clients begin to heal. In my experience working with people of all ages, I am able to adapt my approach to how it will best benefit each client.
Dr. Annet Kabuusu Mukasa is committed to empowering individuals on their journey to mental wellness by providing compassionate, judgment-free care. Clients need a provider who truly listens, understands, and integrates both evidence-based practices and holistic wellness into their care plan & desire a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to heal and grow & don’t want to feel alone in their struggles; they need a provider who will walk alongside them with empathy and expertise.
I am a licensed mental health counselor, and in recent years, my practice has evolved to focus on the issues of depression, anxiety, and trauma. I treat clients of all ages, but my special interest in working with individuals in highly stressful work\school environments.
I am a Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who offers compassionate, trauma-informed medication management within a warm, collaborative space. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma-related symptoms, and periods of transition, and I deeply value creating a sense of safety and understanding in the therapeutic relationship.
I approach mental health with curiosity and care, believing that symptoms often carry important information about what the nervous system has been holding or managing for a long time. Clients often share that they feel heard, respected, and less alone in our work together. My intention is to support people in reconnecting with themselves and moving through life with greater steadiness and self-trust.
