Hello, I am Skip I have been a therapist for over 12 years. I love what I do and am passionate about assisting people with addressing life issues. I specialize in trauma, addictions and couples therapy.
I am a licensed mental health counselor and Florida native. While I work with individuals of all ages, my primary work is with children and adolescents. I have training in behavior modification, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and developmental psychology. I work with individuals as young as 4 years old through adulthood. I strive to provide the most meaningful the most meaningful and effective clinical interventions to address client needs.
Individual treatment takes many forms–including non-directive play experiences, structured psychoeducational experiences, creative experiences using the arts, direct problem-solving and dialogue. However, regardless of the method of intervention, I aim to create both a trusting relationship and a comfortable environment so that healing can begin.
It can be incredibly difficult to reach out for help and be vulnerable with a stranger. I hope to be able to take this journey with you and/or your loved one. At this time, I am offering telehealth (virtual appointments) with flexible scheduling. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule your free 20 minute consultation.
In 2013, I retired from the United States Army Chaplaincy. Then in 2019, I completed the Master of Science in Professional Counseling degree program at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.
I provide adult counseling and help folks with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, loss, grief, addictions, impulse control, unforgiveness, and their self-esteem. I also help people adjust to marriage, college, aging, retirement, and military life.
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to invest in your healing and growth today. Whether you’re a newcomer to therapy/counseling or an experienced client, I feel it’s a brave and wonderful thing to do the work of mental-emotional healing. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, stress/anxiety, career challenges, LGBTQ+ related issues, grief and loss and trauma disorder such as PTSD.
