I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC). I have been working in mental health and counseling in various clinical settings for over 18 years. I am trained in evidence based models and uniquely qualified to work with working class adults that are serious about making changes.
I specialize in working with addiction problems, relationship issues, anxiety, depression and PTSD. I believe that to embrace change is to embrace life. I also consult and support families and friends that have a suffering loved one and don't know what to do.
I’m a Colorado-based licensed therapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and work primarily with adults who are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or life transitions, even while appearing capable and put-together to others. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to each individual, with an emphasis on understanding patterns, increasing self-awareness, and creating space for meaningful and lasting change.
I work with young women, millennials, teen girls, and young couples. I can support you to help build boundaries, work on relationships, learn coping skills to deal with anxiety & stress, talk through life changes & challenges, big decisions, small decisions, or anything else. I focus on family dynamics, generational patterns, and helping you choose the best steps to take moving forward.
Gwen earned her Undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 2004 before earning her Masters in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2018. She was a high school teacher and social worker in the public school system for 10 years. She has an active License in Clinical Social Work as well as a certificate in School Social Work, and experience providing social work services in the public school system and non-profit sector, with adolescents as well as adults.
I specialize in helping clients navigate grief, relational anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, self-doubt, low self-esteem, and the pressures that hold them back from living fully. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and deeply personal. With experience in working with PTSD, social anxiety, identity struggles, and the impact of divorce, I’m especially drawn to those who are ready to face challenges head-on to thrive, not just survive. I also offer Christian counseling for those wishing to integrate their faith, but all are welcome!
