Hi, I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I enjoy helping clients reach their full potential.
Have you been feeling shut down, invalidated, or numb in life? Having difficulty navigating a big life transition? Maybe you've lost someone important to you recently and you're feeling exhausted from the heaviness of grief. My clients and I work together to determine barriers to wellness, and how to make changes in ways that are meaningful and empowering. I have developed a passion for working with people with ADHD, particularly adult individuals assigned female at birth, and have ADHD myself.
I work primarily with adults experiencing substance use, trauma, depression, and anxiety. I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology with 9 years of experience in private practice, inpatient substance use clinics, and community based mental health centers.
My introduction to helping people and psychology both came about, as a result of following my mom’s example and the Bob Newhart Show. My mother was a natural people person with a keen interest and background in psychology. My take-away from the Bob Newhart Show drove home the needs for humor and light-heartedness as well as a genuine love for what you do. I believe that those qualities: love for people and my passion and seeing the humor in things truly define me, both as a therapist and a person. My academic journey led me to both bachelors and masters degrees from The University of Northern Colorado and included intensive training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy during my sabbatical in between my degrees. With a strong theoretical base supporting me, I moved forward and was able to blend my education with twenty years of real-world experience. I went on and diversified my experience as I worked in community counseling, community corrections, Inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Although our learning never ceases, I feel very comfortable and sincere in offering clients my wealth of experience, knowledge of human behavior, and most of all, a kind ear.

I am a bilingual Health Psychologist. I examine how biological, social, and psychological issues that influence your well-being. In other words, I consider all of you. I am highly focused on how context and the larger systems impact your identity; choosing interventions that match your worldviews and lived experiences. I have a powerful ability to sit with your story and hold the space needed to heal. Working with me invites you to move beyond “good enough” and achieve deep lasting self-agency.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with first responders, veterans, and individuals in other high-stress professions who are navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, depression, and the family and relationship challenges that often accompany these careers. In addition to this population, I also work with mom's who are feeling anxiety, burnout, and depression. It is important to explore difficult experiences, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with yourself and the people who matter most to you. Building trust and safety in our sessions is always my first priority.
What makes my practice unique is my personal experience with responder and veteran culture and being a mom, which allows me to offer not only clinical expertise, but a genuine understanding of the realities, pressures, and unspoken challenges that come with these professions.
I am deeply passionate about this work because I see the daily demands you face, and I believe you deserve a space where you are truly understood and supported. My goal is to help you feel mentally healthier, grounded, and better equipped to manage the weight of your work, whatever that might be, so you can continue to serve with strength while also enjoying your life and career.
I have enjoyed working with families, teens and adults for the past 26 years. I am passionate about helping people understand themselves better and live a more joyful life. I would love to have the opportunity to work with you and value the therapeutic relationship.
Since seeing how the community health system hasn't worked for many in the Southwest, I want therapy to be accessible for my clients. So, I can come to you or my office or virtually! I am 1 of only a couple Spanish-speaking therapist in our region, so I work a lot with the immigrant community. Although I am not Latine, I have worked alongside the Latine community for over 10 years and it is a cultural home for me. Whether I am speaking English or Spanish, my personality still comes through. I also work in homelessness, so I'm comfortable with issues like housing insecurity, substance use, psychosis, suicidality & case management.
